10/26 Gratitude Tuesday, FOE, Lincoln Park
Project Mother’s Day and Solstice Designs send a huge shout out to our friends at Fraternal Order of Eagles, aerie 2566 on Dix road in Lincoln Park. This amazing group of dedicated individuals hosted fundraisers and sought donations to support Project Mother’s Day 2010. Plus, they have already launched activities for the 2011 Project! They are positively tireless when extending their hands to help Project Mother’s Day and so many others in the community.
The “Eagles” are known for community service far and wide as well as here in metro Detroit. There are more than 1700 local aeries and auxilliaries in the US and Canada. Learn more about the Eagles: FOE
Did you know? In 1904, then Grand Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Frank E. Hering made the first known public plea to declare a national day honoring mothers. Hering became known as the Father of Mother’s Day.
Thank you Fraternal Order of Eagles, today we salute you!
